CHERRY PLAYGROUND
VIRIDIS Design Group conducted an extensive public process with input from East Hills Community Neighbors (EHCN) and the Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Department that led to the creation of an active multi-purpose plaza within Cherry Park. Programming, features and character of the urban pocket park were based on a community-driven and planning and visioning process to define a space reflective of the values, history, and future of the eclectic and robust East Hills neighborhood. Designed to connect residents of diverse ages, cultures, and interests, primary features include a brick paver plaza and splash pad, benches and café tables, a bike repair station, and universal access to the on-site neighborhood association building.
