An avid sea kayaker and occasional luthier, David loves paddling the waters of the Pacific Northwest from Puget Sound to Prince William Sound.  He’s looking forward to returning to his paddling roots in Parry Sound, Ontario, one day soon!

DAVID TOMLINSON, PLA, ASLA, LEED AP

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Beginning with listening & inquiry, David approaches design as a thoughtful intervention within a social-ecological tapestry of natural, constructed, and cultural complexities, leveraging digital design & visualization tools to facilitate dialogue, build consensus, and validate design solutions for park systems, green infrastructure networks, and urban streetscapes.  A former outdoor guide, he seeks to infuse an ecological and spatial specificity into his work, generating a sense of place within each unique project.

David joins us by way of Belgium and the Pacific Northwest, having returned to his native Michigan with an international perspective imbued with a sensitivity for local context.  His previous project experience includes green stormwater retrofits, district-wide pedestrian crossing enhancements, and municipal landscapes, among others, as well as an array of architectural work.
